Research has two separate jobs: finding candidate answers, and confirming they’re true. A language model is genuinely useful for the first — it surfaces angles, terms, and leads you might not have reached alone. It is not a source for the second; a plausible citation it produces may not exist, or may not say what it claims. Keep the two jobs apart, and let the real document, not the summary of it, carry the weight.
