A boundary is decided before you act, not after something goes wrong. It has two parts: what the AI must not have (certain data, certain authority) and what a human must still decide (the irreversible or high-stakes steps). Setting it takes ten seconds and prevents most regrets — because the moment you’re mid-task and impressed by the output is the worst moment to first think about limits.
