Also called: reviewing agent actions, logs and oversight

DEFINITION

Keeping a real view of what an agent actually did — an approval prompt before consequential actions, and a log you can review afterwards — so oversight is meaningful, not a rubber stamp.

WHY IT MATTERS

Oversight only protects you if you can see and refuse. A checkpoint you always click 'yes' on, or actions with no record, is oversight in name only — and the first thing you'll wish you had after something goes wrong.

COMMONLY CONFUSED WITH

Having a human 'in the loop'. Presence isn't oversight; the human needs the time, information, and authority to actually intervene.
