Agents in everyday & working life

Connecting apps & connectors

Also called: integrations, plugins, give it access to my tools

DEFINITION

The mechanism by which an assistant is wired into the apps it acts on — email, calendar, files, a CRM — usually by granting a connector permission to read or act on your account.

WHY IT MATTERS

This is where an everyday agent gains its real power and its real risk. The permissions you grant at connection time set the ceiling on what the agent can do — and what a mistake or a hijack could reach.

COMMONLY CONFUSED WITH

A harmless convenience toggle. 'Connect your account' is the consequential security decision; read what scope you're granting before allowing it, and prefer the narrowest that works.
